I sold one to an attorney who doubled as a big band trombone player in South FL in 2010 for retail price at the time. It was new in the Yamaha shipping box, inside its case and I never blew it. The box had printed “YSL-697Z” and the BP was written with a black sharpie.
I have a Yamaha 697Z and a 653. Both are good horns. They both have developed finicky slides at midlife. 15 years. The 697Z is usually in the shop when I need it for gig. The 653 slide got roughness in the outer slide. I lucked out and found a “new” old stock slide from Yamaha. But Yamaha no longer supports them. They are good horns.

I would like to add that if you are used to the YSL-354, you might want to try out Yamaha's jazz model YSL-697Z, the one in my flair. I myself played a borrowed 354 for many years before buying my own horn, and I found the transition to the 697Z an easy one.
